CHRISTMAS 07
Again we are giving awards for Christmas programming on UK radio and for the first time this includes commercial and BBC stations. The judging panel will be looking out for radio features that focus on the Christian meaning of Christmas. They will be listening for radio that brings the Christmas story up to date and fits in with the style and locality of each station. The two things that will count most will be originality and listenability in features that are aired from 17th to 24th December inclusive. Programmes must be broadcast between 7am and midnight.
We accept entries both before and after transmission. Our entry list opens on 19th November 2007 and closes on 31st January 2008. Entrants from commercial stations (but only those who notify us before 10th December) may be supported by a limited number of production grants. This is just one of the six major categories of the Jerusalem Radio Awards.
Awards ceremony 2008
25th September 2008 at 6.30pm RSA, London.
In 2007/08 there will be awards in each of the following six categories for programmes broadcast between 1st May 2007 and 30th April 2008.
GOOD FRIDAY ’08 – on commercial, BBC and internet radio.
SHORTS – a feature no more than 3-minutes long - perhaps a ‘Thought for the Day’, an advertisement or just a very short programme.
PERSPECTIVES – programmes with Christian content but not necessarily produced by a religious producer on commercial or BBC radio.
INTERNET AUDIO – audio content produced specifically for the internet.
IPTV – the year’s best contribution to on-demand internet television.
MADE FOR MOBILE – Christian communication involving mobiles – text, podcasts and vodcasts.
Every entry will be considered automatically for 3 further awards:-
ENVIRONMENT – the Christian and biblical basis of ecology.
UNDER-25s – producers or presenters.
MUSIC – not necessarily Christian music but music in a Christian context.
Closing date for all entries - 30th April 2008.
